Layout Packages

Layout Packages allow you to transfer layouts and associated content from one NTB to another in the form of a ZIP file. These ZIP files are known as "Layout Packages".

Layout Packages can be stored on DVDs, memory sticks or file servers and can also be sent by e-mail if they do not contain large video files.

The 2-step process to transfer layouts from one NTB to another is as follows:

"Create" the Layout Package and include selected Layout(s) on the first NTB.
"Install" the Layouts(s) from the Layout Package file onto the second NTB.

There is a 2GB size limit to Packages. For example, this is around 40 minutes of MPEG2 encoded video content.

How to Create a Layout Package

Finalise the layout(s) that you wish to export.
Browse to 'HOME | Layout Packages | Create' page.
Give the Layout Package a logical name and a description, tick the Layouts that you wish to include and click 'Create Layout Package'.
Wait for the Layout Package creation process to complete and then click the link to the Layout Package file name and it will be downloaded to your computer.
Send copies of the Layout Package ZIP file to the people who require them.

How to Install a Layout Package

Obtain the Layout Package ZIP file that contains the layouts that you want to import.
Browse to 'HOME | Layout Packages'.
Click 'Browse' to locate the Layout Package file and 'Upload' to copy it to the NTB.
Wait for the upload to complete. When the Layout Package appears in the list, click its 'Install' button.
If there are existing items on the NTB that have the same name as an item in the Layout Package but are not identical then you will be asked to either keep the existing items,replace them, or have two versions. Select the desired option and click 'Install Layout Package'.
