How To Modify the Analogue TV Station List

Presumably you want to modify the Analogue TV Station list because you are in a country that has not yet been added to the TV systems list.

  1. FTP to the NTB and download the file: system/config/tv_channels/uk.tv_info
  2. Rename the file to "xx.tv_info" where "xx" is your country code (e.g. "ie" for Ireland)
  3. Open the file in Notepad or another text editor (not a word processor)
  4. Change "United Kingdom" to the name of your country/region
  5. Change "PAL" to "NTSC" or "SECAM" if appropriate
  6. Save the file
  7. Upload the file to: config/tv_channels. NOT THE SAME FOLDER WHERE YOU FOUND THE ORIGINAL FILE. You may need to create the folder if it does not exist.
  8. Download the file: system/config/tv_channels/uk.analogue_channels from the NTB
  9. Rename the file to "xx.analogue_channels" where "xx" is exactly the same as used above
  10. Open the file in a text editor
  11. The file shows a list of channel numbers followed by frequencies e.g. "CH07|359250" => Channel 7 at 359.250 MHz
  12. Add or delete channel numbers by inserting or deleting lines in the file
  13. Put a leading zero into channel numbers less than 10 (e.g. CH09, not CH9)
  14. Enter the vision carrier frequency of the channel in kHz
  15. Save the file
  16. Upload the file to: config/tv_channels
  17. Go to the Player Settings page and change the "TV System" to that of your own country/region.
  18. Test the new channels to make sure that the frequencies are correct (We can't do that for you in the UK!)
  19. When you are satisfied that the frequencies are correct, you can put the two files above onto your other Net-Top-Boxes and set them to your TV system.
  20. E-mail the two files to your NTB support contact so that we can include them as standard in all new NTBs. This will save you from having to put them on yourself in the future.
